In Super Bowl XXXI, the Green Bay Packers defeated the New England Patriots 35-21, giving Brett Farve is first and only title. Desmond Howard became the first special teams player to win the Super Bowl MVP award after returning a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. The game was played at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans on January 26, 1997.
