You could take all of the material used to make both of these pairs of shorts and still not have enough to make one pair like those worn by the stars of today. But these come from a very different era, when team play and winning took precedence over fashion. Offered here are two pairs of game worn Boston Celtics shorts from the early years of Auerbach's Celtic career bearing uniform numbers 7 and 12 respectively. Both pairs of green satin road shorts are trimmed in green and white. One of the pairs (#12) features Horace Partridge tagging in the waistband and a belt buckle enclosure at the front. Extensive wear is evident on both pairs. Based on the apparent era of usage and uniform numbers we attribute these shorts to Celtic players Dermie OConnell and Bob Donham. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
