On Tuesday, July 13, 1999, National Leaguer Tony Gwynn participated in his 15th and final MLB All-Star Game. This particular Mid-Summer Classic took place at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts, and was won by the American League contingent, 4-1. This lot includes a special wooden jewelry box Gwynn received for simply being selected to that year’s All-Star Game. The box measures 11.5” wide by 6” high by 7.5” deep and holds many alcoves for pieces of jewelry to reside. On the front of the jewelry box is an attractive gold plaque that has been engraved with the following text: “TONY GWYNN, SAN DIEGO PADRES, 1999 ALL-STAR GAME, BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.”

Includes Letter of Authenticity from the Gwynn Family.

A portion of the proceeds generated by the Tony Gwynn Collection will be donated to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation. The TAG Foundation is a non-profit, 5013(c) charity dedicated to creating and supporting programs that enhance opportunities for youth to become healthy, educated, and productive citizens.
