In 1992, former San Diego Padres’ great Tony Gwynn was named to his eighth of 15 MLB All-Star Game appearances. Making this event special was the fact that it was being played in Gwynn’s home ballpark: Jack Murphy Stadium. Although he went 0-for-2 on the day and the N.L. All-Stars lost the game, 13-6, Gwynn did receive this impressive set of black Bushnell binoculars for making the team. The binoculars are housed inside a black leather carrying case that also includes a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses as well as a Panasonic AM-FM transistor radio complete with head phones. On the top of the carrying case is a specially engraved black plaque that reads: “TONY GWYNN 1992 All Star Game San Diego July 14, 1992.” The front of the case sports the National League logo in white.

Includes Letter of Authenticity from the Gwynn Family.

A portion of the proceeds generated by the Tony Gwynn Collection will be donated to the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation. The TAG Foundation is a non-profit, 5013(c) charity dedicated to creating and supporting programs that enhance opportunities for youth to become healthy, educated, and productive citizens. The TAG Foundation was organized in San Diego in 1995 by Tony’s wife, Alicia. For more information, visit www.tagwynn2.org.
