Major League Hall of Famer Ted Williams was a native of San Diego who attended Herbert Hoover High School in the 1930’s before embarking on his professional baseball career. In 1954, he became just the second sports star ever elected to the prestigious San Diego Hall of Champions Hall of Fame. On July 12, 1992, the S.D. Hall of Champions hosted “Ted Williams Day” at the Balboa Park facility where this oversized Boston Red Sox framed-and-matted lithograph was presented. The dual-signed print was autographed in pencil by Williams, who added “1941” underneath his signature to call out his magical .406 season, and by the sports artist, Lewis Watkins. On the bottom of the oversized artist’s proof (31” wide by 40” high) is a specially engraved gold plaque that reads: “PRESENTED TO SAN DIEGO HALL OF CHAMPIONS SPORTS MUSEUM TED WILLIAMS DAY JULY 12, 1992 By Lewis Watkins and Fine Arts Marketing.”

Includes Letter of Provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions. Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
