The reverse has a date stamp of “Aug 15 1967” which puts this after his starring role of “Kato” on TV’s Green Hornet and just before his breakout American movie debut in the comedy “The Wrecking Crew.” Lee would quickly make himself into the first Hollywood martial arts star and his films would inspire the action genre to this very day. This early publicity shot is a beautiful closeup of the handsome actor with a crisp clarity one does not find in later Type 1s of Lee. The photo has some edge wear to the white border and soft corners, but none of this affects Lee’s image. The back has the handwritten notation of “Lee, Bruce” and the 1967 date stamp. The photograph measures 4” x 5” and has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
