Julian Javier was a mainstay in the St. Louis Cardinals infield during their successful decade of the 1960's, highlighted by World Series crowns in 1964 and 1967. Javier was also a National League All-Star in 1963 and 1968, plus made additional World Series appearances for the Cardinals in 1968 and Cincinnati Reds in 1972 (how many of you knew that?).

Presented here is a vintage jersey from the 1965 season, gifted to a young fan at spring training in Florida at the time, and had been kept in the family until now.

Here is an excerpt from a note from the consignor:

My late wife, Kathy, obtained the [Javier] jersey. She grew up in Florida in the 1960's and her best friend's dad was a coach for the Cardinals at the time. I'm sorry but I can't remember his name. Kathy visited the Cardinals Spring Training with her friend. Her friend's dad was the one who arranged for her to get the jersey. Kathy was a HUGE sports fan and treasured the jersey. It is only now, 30 years after her death, that I can let it go.

Fresh to the hobby, the classic "birds and bat" logo fly across the chest while number "25" is applied to front and reverse. The lower left front tail is tagged "Rawlings size 40" and embroidered with "Javier 65". The jersey is 100% original and unaltered with no condition issues to note.
