If you saw the movie DINER, set in Baltimore, you know about the famous "Football Test." There is a classic scene which Eddie Simmons, played by Steve Guttenberg, presents his fiancee, Elyse, with a 140-question test on the history of the Baltimore Colts. Elyse must pass the test as a condition of marriage.

Well, the answers to some of those questions had to have been Johnny Unitas, presented here is a very solid grade example of the Colts quarterback's highly desired rookie card.

The reason for the high prices for a coveted Unitas rookie card can be traced to the 1957 Topps set itself. The dual photo and horizontal layout led to poor centering, miscut cards and wear and tear that one might expect on a 60+ year old card. 1957 Topps cards are also prone to scuffing on the front, so what you're looking at here is a rare, eye pleasing gem of one of the early quarterback icons of the game.
