Baseball Commissioner's Award given to the Los Angeles Dodgers Steve Garvey for being named the Most Valuable Player in the 1978 All-Star Game, held July 11, 1978 at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego. Garvey went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs, a walk and a run scored in a 7-3 National League victory. Wood and metal trophy stands 18" high on a 7 3/4" by 7 3/4" base. "Baseball", "The Commissioner's Award", "Most Valuable Player", "All-Star Game 1978", and "Steve Garvey Los Angeles Dodgers" engraved on the front. Some tarnish to the metal on the sides with a few smaller scrapes and scratches to the front. Top section of trophy a little loose at the base. Very impressive trophy!
