After their now iconic 1986-87 basketball set release, Fleer was hitting their stride a couple of seasons later with their eye pleasing and colorful 1988-89 set. Michael Jordan, here in his "3rd year" card, was ascending to the top of the hoop throne. Legends like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kevin McHale, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, Akeen Olajuwan and Dominique Wilkins are artfully presented here, as well.
This set is also offers a loaded collection of rookie cards of future Hall of Famers Reggie Miller, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and John Stockton. Wow!
