The late, great Roger Maris was a remarkable outfielder and power hitter for the New York Yankees, the man responsible for breaking Babe Ruth’s long-standing, 34-year-old record of 60 home runs in a single season. In 1961, Maris launched 61 round-trippers to break the Bambino’s mark and set the baseball world on fire. This lot features a single-signed Hutch Official Little League (No. 1850) baseball signed in 7/10 blue ballpoint by Maris on the north panel. The mildly soiled ball, dating to the circa 1960's with the same size and weight as a regulation ball (5 oz. & 9 cubic inches), remains in EX overall shape with all print bold and strong. Tough to find a Maris single in the market of such fine quality. Includes full LOAs from PSA/DNA and Beckett Authentication Services.
