The late, great Roger Maris was a remarkable outfielder and power hitter for the New York Yankees, the man responsible for breaking Babe Ruth’s long-standing, 34-year-old record of 60 home runs in a single season. In 1961, Maris launched 61 round-trippers to break The Bambino’s mark and set the baseball world on fire. This lot features a single-signed OAL (MacPhail) baseball done in bold 9+/10 blue ballpoint by Maris on the sweet spot. The mildly spot-toned ball is still extremely white in most areas, giving Maris' sharp signature outstanding eye appeal and making it a great candidate for grading (auto. only). Includes full LOA from JSA (X64429).
