You know you had arrived when sports cartoonist Bill Gallo made you the subject of one of his pieces in the New York Daily News. These three framed original works of art were presented by the cartoonist to New York Knicks coach Red Holzman. The first piece is signed and dated “2/8/70” and depicts Holzman riding “That Fabulous Knicks Bench” past a road sign pointing the way to the playoffs. The second piece was done to honor Holzman when he retired from coaching and has been signed by Gallo, “To Red with my best wishes.” The final Gallo piece graphically illustrates the Knicks coach’s plan to grab the Eastern Division Championship. Gallo has signed the bottom, “My congratulations to you – you’re doing one helluva job.” The works measure 11” by 14” and have been nicely framed. These wonderful Gallo originals are from the personal collection Red Holzman and are offered here for the first time. Includes LOA from Holzman family.
