This one-of-a-kind piece gives us a glimpse into New York Knicks head coach Red Holzman’s leisure time. This is Red’s personal Cigar humidor, custom crafted using an actual floor piece from New York’s Madison Square Garden – upon which Holzman had won two World Championships in 1970 and 1973. The humidor was custom made by the famous New York tobacco shop Nat Sherman and is marked and numbered (2/250) on a plaque mounted on the interior wall. The internal humidity and temperature gauges are also present, but we are unsure how effective they are at this point.

The wooden humidor is accompanied by Red’s 1957 NBA All-Star themed, Zippo-style lighter; it is labeled “6th Annual All Star Game January 15 1967 Boston Garden” on one side with a vintage NBA logo on the other. A cigar clipper and a dozen of Red’s cigars – a coveted Cohiba and a Bolivar made in Cuba among them – complete this unique presentation piece. For those who want to feel real close to the deceased Hall of Fame coach, here’s your chance to smoke one of Holzman’s actual cigars! The humidor shows moderate wear with some surface abrasions and scuffs to the exterior, but overall is in remarkable shape. It comes from the late Red Holzman’s personal collection with an LOA from his family.
