Red Holzman followed up his 1970 Finals win with a second Championship in 1973 when he guided his Knicks to a 4-games-to-1 series victory over their bitter west coast rivals – the L.A. Lakers. The two NBA titles made Holzman a living legend to New York basketball fans and they remain the only trips to the mountain top in franchise history. To mark the occasion of Red’s 1973 Finals victory, the Knicks head coach was presented with this 14-karat gold charm (fob). The piece is crafted in the shape of a stylized basketball and has been engraved with “1973 KNICKS WORLD CHAMPIONS.” The 14K gold (we had this verified with a local jeweler) fob shows some surface scuffs and abrasions from handling and age, while the engraving remains sharp and legible. The small but significant gold charm comes from the late Red Holzman’s personal collection with an LOA from his family.
