14-1/2" by 17" piece of original newspaper artwork by renowned Boston Globe artist Phil Bissell, creator of the New England Patriots logo (Pat the Patriot).
Artwork features portrait images of the All Stars from the 14th All-Star game held at Boston Gardens including Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor, Tom Gola, Tom Heinsohn and Bob Pettit. Celtics owner Walter Brown is pictured as "Merlin" in the upper left, dated 1-12-64 on bottom right. Lots of personality in this piece and a great piece of original artwork. wax paper cover has several tears in it, artwork has a couple insignificant wrinkles at the edges and few light stains.
Includes letter of provenance from the Red Auerbach estate.
