This large 11” by 14” piece of original art was created by renowned Boston Globe artist Phil Bissell, creator of the New England Patriots logo (Pat the Patriot). The piece was created in homage to Red Auerbach leading the Celtics to their fourth straight Eastern Division title in 1960. It shows Auerbach puffing his trademark cigar at his desk with the years 1957-1960 appearing in smoke rings. The piece appears to be in NM condition in its original vintage frame and is artist signed in the lower left corner. Includes a letter of provenance from the Auerbach estate.
