In the wake of the 1919 Black Sox scandal, Ray Schalk rose from the ashes of the franchise, his reputation untarnished, to lead the team's painful reconstruction. His unimpeachable performance and dedication ultimately earned him a plaque in Cooperstown. This outstanding OAL (Cronin) baseball has been meticulously and boldly signed across its sweet spot by Hall of Famer Ray Schalk. On the panel beneath his signature is his added notation, “Enshrined Base Ball Hall of Fame July 25th, 1955.” All blue ink writing rates 8-9/10. The ball itself is virtually pristine. All things considered it is hard to imagine a finer Schalk single in hobby circulation. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (AG01581).
