19" by 12" colorful "Babe Ruth's Own Book of Baseball" counter top advertising display. This cardboard display pictures a large caricature image of Ruth swinging for the fences which is very similar to the dust jacket that accompanies the book it's advertising. Additional black and white image of a smiling Ruth pictured in a baseball motif and advertising text for the Bambino's book. The visual appeal of this piece is tremendous and the large size makes it an ideal display. The front of the display shows typical edge wear a stain on the right border and a two inch crease which has broken the paper above and to the right of Ruth's knee in the batting image. Piece was trimmed down at some point based on the white border at the bottom and lack of the same border on the other edges. Reverse of the display is rough with paper loss, some various staining and damage to the edges from a previous framing. Also missing from the back of the display is the cardboard stand that would have been folded out to display on a counter top. We've never seen one of these before. Possibly a one of a kind. Displays as EX but technically GOOD-VG.
