The 1959 Cincinnati Reds had an uneventful season, finishing in 5th place in the NL standings.  The team had recently changed their name back to the Reds having been under the nomanclature, Redlegs the previous six seasons. The team's star, Frank Robinson knocked in 36 home runs and 125 RBI during the '59 campaign.

The 1961 San Francisoc Giants produced an 85-69 record and finished in 3rd place in the National League. The Giants were led by their star Willie Mays, who ended the season with 40 bombs and 123 RBI. Unfortunately the post season wasn't in the cards for this team.

Featured in this lot is a 1959 Reds ball and a 1961 Giants ball.  The Giants ball includes 28 autographs including three HOFers: Mays, Cepeda & Marichal. The Reds ball has 27 autographs including HOFer Frank Robinson. The Reds ball presents much cleaner than the Giants ball with some toning and mild staining along with crisp 6-8/10 blue ball point pen autographs. The Giants ball stained and is covered in a brown tone across the entire surface with 6-8/10 blue ball point pen autographs. Both balls come from the son of George Vico, former Tigers 1B and longtime minor-leaguer. Beckett Pre-Certified.
