This lot of scarce publications offers a complete record of the U.S. and international participation in the first post-war Olympic Games. The first volume is the “Report of the United States Olympic Committee 1948 Games” and summarizes both the Summer and Winter Games. Bound in gold with the U.S. Olympic Team logo on the cover, its 388 pages contain the results of every event as well as hundreds of official photographs. Measuring 9” x 12” x 1", this is the complete record of USA's participation in the London Games.

The second volume is the massive “Official Report of the Olympic Games for the XIVth Olympiad London 1948.” Bound in a simple green cover stamped with the official '48 Summer Games logo, its 580 pages represent the definitive final report on the London Olympics. Measuring 9" x 11½" x 2", this lavishly illustrated book records the results of each event. The final piece in this group is the September 1948 edition of the British “World Sports” magazine. This special Olympic Results Issue was a publication of the British Olympic Association. Each booklet shows some wear and handling as they were all owned by Lloyd Butler, member of the American rowing team that won the gold medal in the Eight Oar Shells event in London. Overall, the covers and bindings and internal pages remain in tremendous shape for their age.

LOA from Butler family.
