First of two images captures the New York Yankees posing together on the steps of the dugout just prior to taking the field for the first game of the 1937 World Series. Joe DiMaggio is clearly visible at the end of the line on the left while Yankee captain Lou Gehrig stands at the ready on the far right. A portion of the original ACME wire caption, dated 10/6/37, is attached to the reverse by means of clear tape. The photo displays some minor rippling and corner wear. The second image shows “YANKS INFIELDERS” posing at the top step of their dugout including Gehrig and Lazzeri side by side. the original AP wire caption, dated 9/29/37, is attached to the reverse. The photo displays some minor discoloration affecting the three middle figures in the image, otherwise NM. Both photos measure 9" by 7".
