For many baseball memorabilia aficionados, a Ruth "single" of this quality would constitute a cornerstone of their collection. For other collectors with a broader interest in purely iconic pieces of Americana, it could serve as the entirety of a baseball collection unto itself. This Babe Ruth “Home Run Special” baseball produced by Spalding in the late 1920’s features a perfectly rendered Babe Ruth signature in blue ink on the heart of the sweet spot. The form and fluidity of Ruth’s penning is an aesthetic marvel. The ball's light to medium toned surface shows a nice vintage patina with only moderate evidence of handling. The appealing manufacturer's stampings, including Ruth’s facsimile autograph, opposite his original version, remain fairly bold. Although PSA/DNA has assigned a composite technical grade of 6.5, no numerical designation could measure the visual grandeur of the offered gem.

Includes a full LOA from PSA/DNA (Graded 6.5).
