During his time at the University of Cincinnati, Oscar Robertson produced a string of statistics and records that made him the best collegiate athlete of the late 50’s. In his first varsity season as a sophomore the Bearcats 6' 5" point guard led the NCAA in scoring at 35.1 ppg (first of three straight scoring titles) and was named UPI Player of the Year and Sporting News College Player of the Year. This trophy celebrates his incredible 1957-58 season with the University of Cincinnati.

For his efforts, Sport Magazine named Oscar "Top Performer in College Basketball 1958" and awarded him this 10" by 15" wood-based plaque (weighing 4 pounds) flanked by what should be two gold-washed figurine eagles (one has broken off from storage and age). A brass nameplate spells out the honor with his name engraved. Oscar has autographed the bottom of the wood base in bold black marker. The plaque shows heavy wear and tear as mentioned and has a rear wall mount hanger for display purposes. Includes LOA from Oscar Robertson.

PLEASE NOTE: Oscar will donate a portion of his auction proceeds to the Jerome Lipper Multiple Myeloma Center and LeBow Institute for Myeloma Therapeutics at Dana Farber. This renowned cancer treatment center “provides comprehensive care to patients with multiple myeloma, including promising new therapies through clinical trials rooted in an approach that brings laboratory discoveries quickly to the clinical setting” (https://www.dana-farber.org/multiple-myeloma-program).
