Only a very special occasion could have prompted the assemblage of baseball’s biggest stars to sign this OAL (Barnard) ball during the mid 1920’s. Though the particulars of this gathering are not known, it did facilitate the gathering of 16 signatures that includes a Who’s Who from the Roaring Twenties, baseball’s Golden Age. Included on the sphere’s sweet spot is Babe Ruth (7/10), along with Ty Cobb (5/10), Walter Johnson (6/10), Tris Speaker, Clark Griffith, Bucky Harris, Goose Goslin, George Sisler, Roger Peckingpaugh, Joe Sewell, umpires Billy Evans and Thomas Connolly, along with Bob Muesel, Ossie Bluege, “Dutch” Ruether, and George Pipgras. The ball is moderately worn and toned with signatures ranging from 3-7/10, averaging 5/10. LOAs from PSA/DNA and JSA.
