For nearly a quarter of a century until June of this past year, Mickey Mantle fans had his namesake restaurant as a place to pay homage to the legendary Yankee when they visited Midtown Manhattan, and for much of that period this imposing artwork played a big part in the restaurant's overall promotional scheme. Mickey Mantle's Restaurant directly across from Central Park was open from 1988-2012, serving Mantle fans and New York City visitors, and customers frequently encountered this artwork either on the menu itself or related promotional literature or hanging on the walls inside among hundreds of pieces of Mantle memorabilia. This poster is a superb example of the vaunted artwork and believed to be a favorite medium of Mantle's to sign. All of 25-by-40 inches, in seemingly Nr-Mt condition, it bears an enormous 9/10 blue Sharpie Mantle autograph at the center, along with his "No. 7" inscription. The incredible size of Mantle's signature, spanning a full 9 inches, is rightfully commensurate with the dramatic scale of the display piece. At the bottom of the poster a Mantle facsimile signature beneath the Yankee Stadium facade that the restaurant used as a logo appears, along with "Restaurant and Sports Bar" and the address and phone number. The piece is professionally matted in white (striking black frame) to overall dimensions of 29-by-43 inches.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
