The late Muhammad Ali, a three-time World Heavyweight Champion, had perhaps his most memorable boxing battles versus the late, great “Smokin’ Joe” Frazier. In 1974, they squared off in a non-title match billed as “Super Fight II.” It took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City on January 28, 1974, and Ali, a slight favorite to win, did just that by unanimous decision. This lot features a black-and-white original German press photo from that particular bout. Measuring 6" wide by 8.5" high, the photo shows Ali stalking Frazier late in the fight. The photo was later signed by Ali in black marker and inscribed with the "5-27-76” date of that autograph. The date of the signature certainly makes sense as Ali had defeated Richard Dunn (5th round KO) three days earlier in Munich.

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
