After going 0-for in the playoffs as a starter during the course of his big league career, Boston Red Sox left-hander David Price exorcised his postseason demons this year coming up big and leading the Red Sox to their fourth World Series title in 15 seasons. Presented here is Price’s game-worn Boston Red Sox home jersey that he wore on April 21, 2016, during his first month with the team. The Sox dropped a 12-8 decision to Tampa Bay that day.
On the front left tail is a “Majestic” manufacturer’s tag that reads, “FLEXBASE” and “SIZE 48.” On the manufacturer’s tag is MLB hologram sticker reading “JB 377752.” On the left inseam is a materials tag with washing instructions. Across the chest reads “RED SOX” in red on navy blue tackle twill and on the back is Price’s uniform number “24.” On the rear outside collar rests the official “MLB” logo. On the left sleeve is a “Majestic” logo embroidered with the Red Sox logo encircled with a recycling logo sitting above it. Price pitched just 3.2 innings that day so the jersey reflects moderate use.
