The American League led the 1957 All-Star Game at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis from start to finish. But the National League certainly put up a fight. Gus Bell's two-run double in the seventh cut the NL's deficit to one. Then in the top of the ninth, the NL used back-to-back triples from Stan Musial and Willie Mays to score three more times. But the Senior Circuit fell one run short in a 6-5 defeat.
Presented here is an exceptionally high-grade ONL (Giles) baseball signed by 26 members of the 1957 NL All-Star squad. Hall of Famers include Willie Mays, Warren Spahn, Ernie Banks, Stan Musial, Ed Mathews and Walter Alston (SS), plus Gil Hodges, Wally Moon and others. Autographs are mostly 9/10 on a slightly off-white ball that appears like new.
