PAIR OF 1937 AND 1938 NEW YORK YANKEES WORLD SERIES PRESS PINS (OSSIE VITT COLLECTION)

Lovely pair of 1937 and 1938 New York Yankees World Series press pins featuring patriotic red-white-and-blue color motifs. Both are manufactured by Dieges & Clust and come with their functioning threaded back posts. The 1938 pin remains in fantastic shape (NM-MT/Mint) while the 1937 pin is shows some oxidation and tarnishing (EX/EX-MT). The late 1930's was the era of the Yankees first great dynasty. Beginning in 1936, the Bronx Bombers, led by Lou Gehrig and newcomer Joe DiMaggio, won a then-record four consecutive World Championships. This is an impressive pre-war pairing from the middle of that incredible run.

Part of the Ossie Vitt Collection, it includes a letter from Vitt's grandson.
