Bill Mazeroski and Joe Carter are still the only two players in MLB history to end the Word Series with a walk-off home run. Although only one can say his famous shot was in a Game 7, and that's Maz. In the 1960 Fall Classic, facing a heavily favored New York Yankees team with star power up and down the roster, the Pittsburgh Pirates showed true grit and fought tooth-and-nail with the Bronx Bombers. Leading off the bottom of the 9th in the deciding game with the score knotted at 9, the Hall of Fame second baseman took Ralph Terry's 1-0 pitch over the left field fence and was mobbed at home plate, forever a hero in the Steel City.
The 1960 World
Series is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever with
the Yanks pounding the Bucs in their three wins by a combined 38-3, yet ultimately unable to win the close games.
This GD/VG appearing ticket stub (crease on right side in orange section) from that pivotal Game 7 at Forbes Field has been perfectly autographed by Mazeroski in 9.5/10 black marker. Directly below is the Yankee who gave up the big knock, Ralph Terry, who has signed in 9/10 black felt tip pen. Very tough to ticket to get with both of these signatures.
The stub is encapsulated by Beckett with a standard ungraded "Authentic" designation.
