Lovely 1952 New York Yankees World Series Champions 14-karat gold Lord Elgin wristwatch featured here. A very scarce World Series watch awarded only to players and front office executives. The New York Yankees defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in a hard-fought 7-game series that featured the likes of Jackie Robinson and Mickey Mantle. The square watchcase (2 x 3.5 cm) with a glass face features the Yankees' classic Uncle Sam top hat logo with "WORLD CHAMPIONS 1952" in black. The '3' and '9' hour marks appear to have a round-cut diamond in place of the number, although we would have to open the watchcase to verify this 100%. (We can't image they'd use CZ's on such a refined piece of jewelry.) Stamped on the lower seconds hand is "Lord Elgin", the prestigious 1864-1968 watch company's premium brand. "14 KARAT GOLD" is stamped on the reverse. The hour and minutes hands are not running (simple repair job from your local jeweler should do the trick), but overall the watch with its flawless black leather band comes in exceptional NM-MT condition. This is the first example of such 1952 Yankees World Champs wristwatch that we have handled, and only the second time one has surfaced publicly according to our research; the first time was in 2000 and it appears to be the exact same one.
