One of the scarcest multi-sport issues of the 1930's, the Rogers Peet Company (a New York- Boston clothing store chain) issued the cards as part of a "frequent customer" program. The cards were meant to be placed in albums that the stores gave out to customers. The 1 7/8" x 2 1/2" blank-back cards have detailed black & white photos and are numbered on the front along with the player's name.

Along with #48 Babe Ruth, this #28 card of Lou Gehrig is a key card in the series. This example has some creasing and a tear at the right border, but the central image of a leaping Gehrig is largely undisturbed. Graded PSA PR 1.
