Before his well-publicized fall from grace, O.J. Simpson was a Hall of Fame running back for the Buffalo Bills. From 1969 to 1979, Simpson rushed for a total of 11,236 yards, which included his last two NFL seasons playing for the San Francisco 49ers. He also scored 61 touchdowns during his prolific gridiron career. This lot includes Simpson’s NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team trophy that he was awarded in 1994, the same year he was initially arrested and charged with double murder. Sporting a wood base with pieces of green marble adorning the front, the trophy includes a pewter display of six vintage football players featured on top. On one of the panels, the trophy reads: “First man to rush for over 2,000 yards (2,003 in 1973). Rushed for more than 1,000-plus yards five straight seasons (1972-76), winning four NFL titles. ’73 Pro Bowl MVP.” Despite his off-the-field antics, Simpson was still one of the best running backs the NFL has ever produced.

Includes Letter of Provenance from Jim Steeg, former NFL Director of Special Events.
