No artist could capture Jesse Owens’ speed better than LeRoy Neiman. His abstract whirlwind style lends itself perfectly to the urgency of Jesse Owens’ dash to Olympic gold in the 1936 Berlin Games. In this 24" by 19¼" limited edition lithograph, Neiman depicts Owens mid-stride, the fans in the stadium just a blur as America’s greatest sprinter makes Olympic history. This lot contains 31 of the 100 limited edition lithographs signed and numbered by LeRoy Neiman and gifted by the artist to the Owens family sometime after Jesse's death in 1980. The signatures are all in bold 9-10/10 black marker and the numbers included are #8, 19-35, 37-42, 73, 75-79, and 81 of 100. Each one of these
signed prints would typically retail for $150-250 apiece, making this a
tremendous value-buy for dealers or art enthusiasts alike.
Includes LOA signed by each of Jesse Owens' three daughters. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
