In the summer of 1986 there was no greater live act than Queen. With incomparable front man Freddie Mercury, Queen slayed any venue from the smallest club to the biggest stadium. On July 12, 1986, the band’s Magic Tour made a stop in London’s original Wembley Stadium. Fortunately for future rock fans, the performance was recorded and broadcast on both radio and television in 1986 and then produced as a commercial recording and video in various formats over the decades. This stunning and carefully composed shot of Freddie Mercury was taken during the July 12 show by photographer Frank Griffin. In this single shot Griffin was able to capture the dramatic persona that was Freddie Mercury. The photo shows minor edge wear and has nice toning throughout from age. The reverse has the London Features International Ltd. Stamping along with Frank Griffin/LFI, US/FG. stamp. The photograph measures 8” x 10” and has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 by PSA.
