Offered here is a unique pairing of a Julius “Dr. J” Erving autographed basketball and photograph, each inscribed “To Pete", presumably addressing the late, great “Pistol” Pete Maravich. (The other personalized lots to Jordan, Barkley and Jerry West are all addressed to "Pistol" and come from the same consignor.) The Wilson Official NBA (Larry O'Brien) basketball, dating to the early 1980s, is signed “To Pete, From Julius Erving" and “Dr. J” in bold black marker. The vintage ball remains in nearly perfect shape. The 8x10 photo features Dr. J driving past Larry Bird to the bucket and reads “To Pete, From Julius Erving” in black permanent marker. Both autographs and inscriptions are flawless and each comes with its own COA from Beckett (Cert #’s: S22722, S22723).
