The 1959–60 Ohio State men's basketball team is the only basketball team to win a national title in Ohio State history. They were coached by Hall of Fame coach Fred Taylor and had three future Hall of Famers on their roster: center Jerry Lucas, forward John Havlicek, and reserve forward Bob Knight, who entered the Hall for his storied coaching career, most notably at Indiana. The Buckeyes steamrolled through the NCAA tournament by an average of 19.5 points a game, dusting off California, 75-55, in the final, with Havlicek and Lucas teaming up for 28 points.
The wristwatch is a 10K Lord Elgin beauty, with black clock face with gold highlights that note "NCAA Basketball Champions 1960," and "Lord Elgin" below. Kreisler watch band and watch appear to be in largely as-issued and problem-free condition, with the watch still in working order. Comes in an attractive 4-by-4-inch cherrywood presentation box, with watch housed on a small white pillow.
Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John Havlicek.
