This is a superb example of one of the most ambitious and extensive projects ever undertaken to chronicle the career and life of a single ballplayer. "The DiMaggio Albums" was published in 1989 in two 9 1/2-by-11-inch books of 400 pages each, with literally hundreds of newspaper articles and columns reproduced in roughly chronological order, interspersed with a staggering number of photographs, paintings, editorial cartoons and memorabilia from one of the most revered players in baseball history. One of the keys to the unique project was DiMaggio's participation in signing the elegant red slipcover that proclaims "The DiMaggio Albums" in gold on the front (and the spine), and includes a 4-by-5-inch color photo of a young DiMaggio. The Hall of Famer signed in bold, blue Sharpie across the lower end of the photo. The books themselves appear to be virtually pristine and as-issued, with nary a bit of evidence that anyone has even rifled through the 800-plus pages; the slipcover is nearly as perfect, betraying virtually no wear on the corners and suggesting minimal usage.

Comes with a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA for the signature.
