In the years after his 1936 triumph in Berlin, Jesse Owens traveled the world as an ambassador for the Olympic ideals and goodwill. This Sterling Silver serving tray was presented to Owens by the Penang Amateur Athletic Association of Malaysia in 1955. The center of the tray reads “PRESENTED TO JESSE OWENS BY PENANG A.A.A. 1955" and lists the members of the club. The lovely tray weighs 314 grams, measures 8" by 8" and is supported by four short legs. The Sterling symbol is hallmarked on the bottom and the tray shows medium use with some tarnishing with age.
Includes LOA signed by each of Jesse Owens' three daughters.
