The Sales Executives Club of New York was founded in 1932 by Thomas Watson of IBM. The goal of the organization was to ''improve selling methods, exchange information and establish sales as a profession.'' The club meetings featured well-known celebrity speakers chosen specifically to inspire its members. In 1969 the club asked Jesse Owens to address the group, and as a token of their appreciation, awarded the Olympic hero this Speakers Award medal. The large bronze medal measures 3 inches in diameter and 3/4 cm at its thickest, weighing in at 7.4 ounces. The obverse features an embossed set of hands clapping with “SALES EXECUTIVES CLUB OF NEW YORK” on its obverse. The reverse is engraved with “SPEAKERS AWARD APPLAUSE TO JESSE OWENS FEBRUARY 28, 1969”. The medal shows light wear and scuffing from storage and display. Edge engraved "METALLIC ART CO. NY" and "BRONZE."

Includes LOA signed by each of Jesse Owens' three daughters.
