Honus Wagner has become a collecting icon through a combination of true greatness and mythical circumstance. Even to those unfamiliar with the history of our National Pastime, his name has come to bear a connotation of importance. This "Ohio Professional League" ball bears the Flying Dutchman's bold fountain pen signature "J. Honus Wagner" placed across the side panel with his proud notation "Pirates 1942" (8/10). The ball remains lightly toned with only moderate signs of handling. Anyone serious about building the ultimate collection of singles from the inaugural Hall of Fame inductees has found their cornerstone.
