Rick Monday is best remembered for saving the American flag from being burned in Dodger Stadium during the American Bicentennial. On April 25th, 1976 – Dodger Stadium, in the fourth inning of a game between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers, Cubs outfielder Rick Monday observed two unruly fans sprint onto the field and douse an American Flag in lighter fluid and tried to set ablaze. Monday came from behind them and swiped the flag off the ground before they could do so.

Offered here is a neatly signed and graded PSA AUTHENTIC ticket stub from that eventful outing. Monday's autograph is in crisp blue ball point pen across the bottom third of the extremely well preserved stub. Color, edges and text are all crystal clear on this copy. The scarcity is not to be overstated: There are only 2 of these graded on the PSA population report with none graded higher as of this writing. An outstanding addition to any advanced ticket collection.
