This photo perfectly captures the only time an NFL team was able to pull off an undefeated perfect season. After going 14-0 in the regular season, Don Shula’s Miami Dolphins beat Cleveland in the divisional playoff and followed that with a win over Pittsburgh for the AFC Championship. Then, facing the Washington Red Skins in Super Bowl VII, Miami did the impossible – a 14-7 win to complete the only perfect season in NFL history. This climactic photo shows the moment Don Shula was lifted above the crowd and carried off the field by his players in spontaneous celebration.
The front image shows light edge wear and a small crease on the lower left corner. The reverse has a Sport Magazine stamp along with a credit slug describing the image. The residue of glue and other labels are present, but this does not affect the image on the front.
