In 1955 it was the boys from the Bronx who were left saying, "wait till next year". The Yankees chose to celebrate their A.L. pennant, by issuing these splendid fourteen karat gold belt buckles to players and high ranking officials. Offered is a gorgeous example presented to hard nosed, hard swinging Yank Hank Bauer.
The "hat and bat" logo appears at center, shimmering with patriotic gemstones that form the hat's striping. Engraved text reads, from top to bottom, "American League Champions, 1955 Yankees, Henry A. Bauer." The buckle remains in flawless NM condition. This is a rare prize with the only other example seen in the marketplace having come from the personal collection of Casey Stengel. Buckle measures 1.25” by 2" in size.
Part of the esteemed Delbert Mickel estate collection.
