Gil McDougald spent his 10-year major league career with the Yankees and played a key role on one of baseball’s greatest dynasties. He was the American League Rookie of the Year in 1951 and teamed with Hall of Famers such as Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, and manager Casey Stengel to lead New York to eight American League pennants from 1951-60. McDougald finished in the top 10 in AL MVP voting three times (1951, 1956, 1957) and was selected to six All-Star teams.

Presented here is McDougald’s Hillerich & Bradsby professional model K55 bat employed by the multi-position infielder during his early seasons in the Bronx. This 35-inch, 32-ounce weapon can be pinpointed to the 1951-1958 labeling period per factory record. Between the centerbrand and barrel stampings, McDougald's black marker signature (9-10/10) is accompanied by his inscriptions of "Best Wishes - NY Yankees - 1951-60." The un-cracked item shows light use, with ball and surface marks about the hitting surface. LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (GU 6). Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
