This attractive sterling silver bowl was presented to legendary Hall of Famer George Sisler for his participation in a special Hall of Fame Day at Yankee Stadium in 1954. The 7-inch in diameter bowl (nearly 4 inches high) has an elegant engaving of the exterior of the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, directly above an engraved signature of Sisler. On the opposite side of the bowl are engravings that read; "Hall of Fame Day, Yankee Stadium, August 14, 1954." Engravings of "Paul Revere" and "Wallace Sterling 4193" appear the bottom of the base. The bowl appears to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition, not even displaying some of the tarnishing that you might anticipate from sterling silver after nearly six decades; comes in a protective brown-felt bag that is in similar condition, betrayed only by the release of some of the stitching on one side. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Sisler Family.
