This is an absolutely stunning piece of baseball history brought to life by one of the great sports photographers of the era, George Pietzcker, who was better known as the official photographer for the U.S. Golf Association. While Babe Ruth's majestic left-handed swing has been seen by millions in newsreel footage, it's simply not so for one of his contemporaries and certainly one of the key early Hall of Famers, George Sisler. Here then is a marvelous piece of memorable that dramatically captures the swing that compiled a .340 lifetime batting average and topped the .400 mark twice in his career. While vintage flip books are typically found with printed lithography in the still photos, this wonderful piece features the actual black-and-white photographs, 30 in all, of Sisler's swing. The 3-by-4-inch flip book is in superior condition, with only some wear visible at the corners around the binding and the bowing that might be expected from the photography and "flipping" the pages. Pietzcker, who operated out of St. Louis but traveled the country for more than two decades in his work for the USGA,, created the book and added gold imprinting on the cover of "George Sisler" and below that "Pietzcker Photo" and the copyright symbol. Comes with an LOA from the Sisler Family.
