This stunning gold pocket watch was presented to George Sisler by the good citizens of St. Louis in recognition of his remarkable season in 1922 when he hit .420 and was named the league's MVP. It was also his second .400-plus season in three years, so the ardor of the faithful was certainly well-placed and understandable. This amazing Illinois Watch Co. pocket watch, with incredibly ornate design work encircling the face, is in remarkable condition and features delicate engraving on the back of the face that reads: "To George H. Sisler From Citizens of St. Louis 1922." The crystal seems largely absent any scratches, with the silver-highlighted edges on the face barely revealing even modest surface wear from expected normal usage, and the watch would appear to be in working order. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Sisler Family.
