Hall of Fame pitcher Warren Spahn used the offered ball as he led the Milwaukee Braves to a 2-1 win over the Chicago Cubs on August 11, 1961—notching the second no-hitter of his career in the process! He would tack on another 63 more wins over the remaining handful of years, ending up the winningest left-hander in major league history. On the panel below the ONL (Giles) stamping, Spahn has written, "Best Wishes, Warren Spahn - Chicago 1 Milwaukee 2, 8/11/61 No. 300" in vintage blue ink. This is among the finest known self-authenticated game balls from one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history.
